Alyson McCall Receives American FFA Degree

Alyson McCall, daughter of Alice McCall and Randy Gruber, of the Minneapolis FFA Chapter was honored on October 24, 2009, with the American FFA Degree at the 82nd National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is the highest degree awarded by the National FFA Organization. Earning the degree means being one of a select group of individuals to be recognized for years of service and achievements in agriculture.
Alyson is the tenth member of the Minneapolis FFA Chapter to achieve this honor. She joins Alan Windhorst 1946, Lon Dean Crosson 1949, Laddie E. Merryfield 1951, David Crosson 1980, Cade Rensink 2000, Paul Carver 2005, Drew Crosson 2006, Jonathan Schmidt 2006 and Cory Kiser in 2007.
The American FFA Degree recognizes demonstrated leadership ability and outstanding achievements in agricultural business, production, processing, or service programs. To be eligible, members must have earned and productively invested $7,500 through a supervised agricultural experience (SAE) program. Recipients must also make it their mission to demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement.
Each award recipient receives a gold American FFA Degree key and certificate in a blue leatherette frame to commemorate the achievement. The degree recognition program is sponsored by Case IH, Farm Credit and Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc.
