Forensics Team Places 3rd at State

The Minneapolis High School Forensics Team competed in the 2010 State 3A Speech and Drama Championship Tournament on Saturday, May 1, at Wichita East High School. Forty-six schools attended the event.
Sterling placed 1st with 355 points, Rock Creek 2nd with 347 points, Minneapolis 3rd with 275 points, and Ellinwood 4th with 225 points.
"We knew going back to 3A this year that Sterling and Rock Creek would be tough. These kids fought hard, and to have 6 finalists and a state champion event shows how talented they are. This was a great way to end the season," stated Coach Bergman.
Individual Winners Were:
Prose: Semi finalist: Emily Rankin, Finalists: Charlie Lynn-5th and Spencer Roy-6th
Poetry: Semi Finalist: Caleb Kindall
Humorous Solo: Semi Finalist: Lydia Swisher, and Finalist: Kendall Perry-3rd
Duet Acting: Caleb Kendall/Kindall Perry-1st
Informative Speech: Semi Finalist: Kylen Laws and Lydia Swisher, and Finalist: Dina Lyne-2nd
Original Oration: Finalist: Dina Lyne-3rd
Others competing and earning sweepstakes points were: Hunter Clark, Ellie Labes, Keith Allen, and Meredith Clark.
