Forensics Team Competes at Republic County

The Minneapolis High School Forensics Team competed in the Republic County Invitational on Saturday, April 10. There were five school competing, with Minneapolis placing 4th.
Team sweepstakes results were: Rock Creek 1st with 149 points, Washington County 2nd with 139 points, Sacred Heart 3rd with 130 points, and Minneapolis 4th with 126 points.
Individual Medal Winners:
PROSE: Spencer Roy- 2nd, Keith Allen- 4th
POETRY: Holly Gehrke- 2nd, Kylen Laws- 4th
HUMOROUS SOLO: Kaitlyn Cassel- 3rd
SERIOUS SOLO: Dina Lyne- 4th
INFORMATIVE SPEECH: Dina Lyne- 1st, Kylen Laws- 5th
Others competing and earning sweepstakes points were Chayla Parsons and Kenzie Zimmerman.
"We did not take a full entry to this tournament, so to get 4th was exciting," commented Coach Bergman. "Individually, we had kids who performed very well."
MHS will host an invitational on April 17. The state showcase is on the April 19 and state will be on May 1.
