Journalism students started off the year by going to Salina Central to the Jostens yearbook workshop. At the workshop many new ideas were shown and more creative ways to present a yearbook.
Many
competitions were held during the workshop such as a skit
performance, layout, and cutline writing contest. Every year
the workshop is a great way for the yearbook staff to see new
trends and ideas that could possibly be used in the next year’s
yearbook.
The workshop is also a great way to show newcomers basic picture
taking, cutline writing, and layout design skills.
“The
Jostens yearbook workshop showed us a lot of great ideas that we
can use for the yearbook this year. My favorite part of the
workshop was probably getting doughnuts,” says Shea Shoemaker.
“The Journalism trip was really fun and we got a lot out of it,”
adds Keegan McCullick.
